Translator Needed

There are a lot of words being said and a lot of conversations going on in our house lately with Cannon.  Unfortunately, we don't know 99% of what he is saying.  Aaron thinks he is speaking Chinese and I sometimes think it could be Japanese.  All we know is that Cannon has his own language right now and we are just going to have to wait until he can learn ours a little bit better.

What we do know clearly though is that Cannon has a sweet little 'ol southern accent.  And as Paula Deen says.....bless his heart!

Birthdays & Halloween

Cannon got invited to celebrate Ian & Emma's 3rd birthday.  Ian and Emma are two very sweet children and adorable twins who make me smile every time I see them. They were born on mine and Aaron's 1st wedding anniversary so of course I will never forget their birthday! Ha!  I worked with their daddy, Taylor, at DR Horton and while there we got to talking one day about having babies.  Taylor said during one conversation, "you should call my wife, Allison."  Well I did and the rest is history.  They are wonderful people and have become great friends.

Birthday Boy, Ian!

Birthday Girl, Emma!

Halloween came this year and it was so much fun.  We loaded up the wagon with Caroline and headed out with the neighbors to do some trick or treating.  Of course it was still a muggy, October night in South Carolina so we didn't get to stay out long before the bugs got us.  I actually headed back early with Caroline while Aaron took Cannon down a couple more streets before coming home.

Daddy battled the bugs and stayed out on the porch handing out the last of our candy because
I didn't want ONE PIECE coming back into the house for me to eat!

Cannon sporadically checked on daddy!

Fun Fall Festivals

I LOVE living in South Carolina!  The fall weather has become one of my favorite times of year.  The weather is perfect to enjoy the outdoors during the day and the nights are cool but not too cold.  We have been spending a lot of time this October enjoying this wonderful weather by taking the kids to Fall festivals in Old Town Bluffton and at the Cross Schools.

I can't wait until next year when Caroline is up walking (I'm sure running by then!) and can enjoy the fun with her big brother and not always having to be in her stroller watching from the sidelines.

I guess sitting on a gigantic pumpkin wasn't as fun as I had thought! Sorry Cannon!

It took a while for Cannon to enjoy the bouncy house.  Just as he was having fun came a rush of bigger kids so we pulled him out and saved him quickly.

The festival at Cannon's school was an all day event.  He got to wear his Halloween costume to school that day and if you ask me, I think he was by far the cutest lion I have ever seen!!!!

Ever been woke up by a lion?  Caroline was that morning!

The night of the festival began with dinner in the gym.  Cannon was a hungry lion.  He ate his very first piece of pizza and half of a Chic fil-a sandwich.

Daddy waited in line with Caroline for Cannon to have his 3 minute pony ride.  After waiting 45 minutes in line, Cannon freaked out the moment we tried to put him on the saddle.  Sorry Daddy!

Who would have ever guessed that a loud and bright generator would be the favorite thing of the night?

Told you it was loud!

Atop the Table

Since Caroline was born just 14 months after Cannon we kept everything the same in his room for her arrival.  Also since we didn't know if she was a boy or girl, she got everything passed down to her from her big brother, furniture and all!  The changing table in the nursery is really my old solid wood Thomasville dresser that I had repainted from the 1980's brown wood to a more updated distressed black finish.  I had Paul (our handy dandy craftsman) take off the gold drawer handles and to this day I have never taken the time to find ones I really like.  I've been busy having babies and drawer knobs have just not been on the priority list for a very long time.

The dresser is along side the wall next to the sliding glass closet doors that I'd love to have not had but they have actually come in very handy when having babies.  Babies LOVE to look at themselves in the mirror so both Cannon and Caroline have always enjoyed being on top of the changing table (dresser) and looking at themselves in the mirror.  I have captured some of the cutest pictures as well as videos of the kids while they laugh and giggle, smile and sleep atop this wonderful piece of furniture!

This piece of furniture has been from North Carolina to Texas, back to North Carolina then to Georgia and now to South Carolina.  I think it will be around for a really really long time in this family!

Can't Get Enough!

Sometimes it just seems that I can't get enough of the sweet smile and big blue eyes I get to look at everyday of my life. Cannon is such a happy boy (95% of the time) and it is just so adorable. I follow him around with the camera like the paparazzi! And if your thinking "what about Caroline", don't worry, she is sittin pretty high on a pedestal too.

Kaitlyn and her parents just moved into the neighborhood.  Cannon has had his eye on her daddy's BIG truck for weeks!

Our favorite place to go on a warm South Carolina Sunday!

His sister's carseat looked too inviting!

Teeth!

It seems like we just went through this about a year ago.....oh wait.....we did!  Someone else in the house is teething now and this time it's a sweet baby girl and NOT a grumpy baby boy.  So far teething doesn't seem to be bothering Caroline but again, it's early!

Two days before this picture was taken, we had just noticed for the first time that Caroline had the two bottom teeth breaking through.  Now, we look and she has FOUR teeth coming in all at the same time!!!  Lord help us all!!!

I'm Not Joking.....

......This is how Caroline LOVES to sleep!  Anywhere we go, we either take Mr. Owl or another one of her bed time friends so she can look like is hiding from us.  Please don't tell child protective services, I don't think they would approve of this sleeping habit!!

A First with Two!

We finish off the weekends with a good scrub down and clean hair going into a new week.  I was at a crossroads with Caroline because she just seemed to be so lonely taking baths by herself in the little ring she had to sit in.....so, I let her join her big brother!  The kids loved it.  At first they kept looking at each other like "what are you doing here?" then they would laugh and laugh!  Bath time is double the fun now at our house!

A BIG Thanks!

Thank you!!      Thank you!!       Thank you!!

Can you tell how thankful I am?  Aaron let me sleep in this morning and it was the BEST beginning to my day!  He was even extra courteous when getting Caroline changed that he didn't turn on her music so that it would remain silent.  What he didn't know is that I was really only half asleep thinking to myself the whole time, "why isn't he saying good morning to his beautiful daughter"?  I found out later that again he didn't want to make any noises come through the baby monitor to wake me up.  How sweet!!!!

Once up and ready, I then got the kids dressed and we headed to church for the morning.  Cannon enjoys going to church because he goes into the exact room that he is in for preschool everyday.  He knows where all his favorite toys are and loves playing with all the trucks.  Right now Caroline is still with us in the sanctuary for service.  I have tried both approaches with her.  Keeping her in her car seat attached to the stroller and taking her out to enjoy the music and sermon.  I have come to the conclusion that taking her from the car, putting her straight into the stroller and rolling her into the sanctuary is the best for everyone.....including those seated around us!  She loves to talk and I hope everyone else thinks those sweet sounds coming from the stroller are cute too.  I have learned as well that when she is cozy in her car seat she can still see things around her but for some reason she doesn't talk as much.

These days are good days at the Wheat house.  Weekdays are crazy with trying to stay on-time to work, picking up the kids from school, getting baths, dinner made for four and bedtime stories read before 7:30 but the weekends are filled with fun, love and a little less craziness!

Thank you again Aaron for making my Sunday PERFECT!

First PB & Jelly

During this past June when I was on maternity leave with Caroline, I decided to go take Cannon to test him for allergies.  The tests came back negative for allergies but showed he was slightly allergic to peanut butter.  What kid really isn't at that age?  I haven't given Cannon peanut butter yet but in my quest to find more foods he would eat, I wanted to really really bad.........and so I did!

Cannon's first peanut butter and (strawberry) jelly sandwich was kid tasted and approved on 10.10.10!
