Cannon meets Cousin Mackenzie

Cannon's baby cousin, Mackenzie, was born on September 4th and she is just precious! Pamela was a trooper and let all the family come to visit just weeks after Mackenzie's birth.

Cannon couldn't seem to get enough time playing with and watching his big cousin, Kayden. Kayden even let Cannon play with some of his cars. Thanks Kayden for sharing your toys!

This was a first for us as we have never traveled to Florida and not gotten to see Kevin on our trips. I'm happy to report that Kevin is doing great in the Army National Guard training. We miss him dearly but he has gotten to call us on several occasions to say hello and let us hear his voice.

Thanks again Aunt Pamela for letting Cannon come meet his cousin and for letting us visit so soon after Mackenzie's arrival. We love her and can't wait to see her grow up into the beautiful little girl we know she is going to be!

Standing Tall and Proud

Cannon has reached another milestone we knew was coming yet we prayed was still months away.....yep, he is pulling up and standing tall.....in his crib!!!!

It didn't take long after Cannon started crawling that he figured out there was more to see if he got to stand a little taller. Not only does he love to stand up in his crib but he REALLY loves to let us know he is ready to get out of his crib. Our now soft spoken and mild mannered sweet baby boy has gotten a temper when his mommy & daddy don't come quickly and get him out of his crib in the morning and after naps.

Hey mommy....I'm ready to get down and play!

This is what happens when mommy & daddy ignore the screaming he is doing when he is suppose to be taking a nap. After the 5 minute rule in our house of letting him scream, everything turned silent and when we went into Cannon's room this was the "pass-out" pose we saw.

Labor Day Weekend Recap

Our Labor Day, three day weekend started out a little early on Friday with Cannon having his 6-month check up at the doctors office. He has gained 2 pounds in 2 months and grew another inch taller. That's it....2 pounds??? This child feels like 50 pounds when we are in Target shopping and I insist on holding him now instead of wheeling in that dang baby carrier!!! Oh well, I'll keep my sweet baby a baby as long as I can!

Below is the "happy" Cannon before going back to see the doctor. I thought I would respect his mood and not take a picture of him crying his eyes out after getting his shots. He did manage to regain some happiness and we took a chance and went out to dinner later that night so we did have a good ending to a stressful day.

Saturday came and mommy was faced with more anxiety of starting Cannon on vegetables. I decided to go with carrots and to my amazement, he actually liked them. We stayed around the house this day and did the normal chores while Cannon did his new favorite thing....CRAWL!!! Yep....we have a crawler on our hands! He has a couple of toys he can push around which makes his crawling experience more fun. It's so cute to watch him crawl for a moment but when he needs to take a little breather, he straightens out his legs and goes belly down to rest.

The weather on Saturday was nice so we headed outdoors to the backyard. Cannon hasn't really spent a lot of time back there except in our arms to sit on the porch so we spread out a blanket and hung out for a while. Mommy kept watch for snakes since our neighbor reported he had one up by his house the other day. Correction...mommy kept look out while she continued to freak out!!

Still processing the taste!

Going back for more!

....and more...

All done!

Yep....that ceiling fan is still up there!

Sunday, Cannon woke up a happy boy as usual but unfortunately it didn't stay that way all day. We went over to the Snider's for a cookout and for the boys to play cornhole. Right when we were leaving, I noticed Cannon wasn't feeling well so I took his temperature and sure enough, the sweet baby boy had a fever. He is teething and it is so sad to see him fussy and in such pain. There was so much to take in at the party. Maddie offered her toys for Cannon to play with but he just wasn't in the mood to play for very long, instead he wanted to be in mommy's arms and held tight....you know I never mind holding my Cannon!! I put Cannon down for bed and us adults continued on with some fun. Aaron needs to be a professional cornhole player....he is great at that game!

Maddie was trying to give him a kiss to make him feel better!

Monday started out to be another day around the house but the day quickly starting taking shape as the morning progressed. I received a phone call from my girlfriend, Marisa, who moved to Columbia, SC last year. She has never meet Cannon so she swung by before heading back out of town to hang out and love on him. It was so good to see her and catch up on life.

After Marisa left, our neighbor came by to let us know they were going to be having a cookout for all us neighbors. If you have ever been to our house you might have seen the large amount of kids we have along our street. Our neighbors directly across from us have 6 kids, all under the age of 7 and their neighbors have 5 kids. There are about 15 kids total on the street and Cannon is the baby of everyone. We know in a couple of years he will be out there running around having fun with them. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy the last day of a holiday weekend. The get together is something we discussed doing more often when us parents have more time and aren't at basketball, soccer, football and baseball games for the kids.....or in our case, chasing a crawling 6 month old around the house.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend!!

This is Cannon's "cat" he chases around the house.
