Cannon's First Christmas!!

It was an extra special Christmas at our house this year......Cannon's first Christmas!!!

Grandma Wheat came to stay with us again this year and that was a blessing in it's self! I came down with a horrible cold the weekend before Christmas and was in bed for two straight days. God was good and had Grandma arrive just in time to take care of Cannon so I could get well. Then on Christmas day, both Grandma and Aaron came down with the stomach bug. These things didn't keep the Christmas spirit from us, all we had to do is look into the eyes of our sweet, 10 month old, baby boy to see what Christmas was all about.

Christmas eve we went out to dinner then drove around the neighborhood so Cannon could see Christmas lights. He loved them! His eyes were so wide and full of joy.

On Christmas day we woke up to see what Santa had brought Cannon. I know he doesn't realize what is going on just yet but it's so special getting to start special traditions with Cannon....and his brother/sister next year!

The day after Christmas we loaded up the car and headed south to Florida, along with half of Ohio, New Jersey & New York folks too! The highway was PACKED both going and coming home!! Kevin was back home for a couple of weeks from his training with the Army and it was the first Christmas all three cousins were together.....you can only imagine the excitement Grandma had!?!?! It was a short, 24 hour, trip but it again was so special to be with family at this time of year.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and joyous Christmas. We get a little sad being away from so many of our family members at this time but we know the Christmas spirit lives within our hearts and we are always thinking of them where ever they may be.

We left ornaments on the floor around the presents this year so Cannon wouldn't have to get in trouble taking them off the tree.

Our neighbors house looked like the Griswold's!!!!

Yes Cannon is out of his car seat but safely in the arms of Grandma!

We woke up the next morning and Santa had eaten almost all the Oreo's Cannon left for him

Oh boy....new bibs! Isn't that just what you wanted Cannon??

Cannon LOVES rubber duckies! We had one on the tree that we would take him up to see everyday and he would just giggle. This duckie was in his stocking.

Thank You Grandma for all my wonderful toys you gave me!!!

And thank you again Grandma for my picture book!!

Our first family Christmas
Thank you Santa for Mr. Lion, I push him around everywhere!!!

By noon, Cannon was exhausted and went down for his nap with NO hesitation!

Cannon's happiness from the gift his cousin Kayden & Mackenzie gave him

Thank you Kayden for letting Cannon play with your cars!

Cannon's Christmas Card Debut

Here is our 2009 Christmas Card!

I didn't mail out a lot of Christmas cards before Aaron and I got married but now that our family has the blessing of Cannon, Christmas will be forever changed. It will be even more reason for us to teach him about why we celebrate the season and it will be a lot of fun getting to see Christmas through the eyes of a child.

I blame it on my pregnancy but I didn't order enough cards this year and I feel horrible having to skip mailing to so many family & friends. If your reading this and didn't receive a card, please accept my apologies.

Here is wishing you and your family lots of love & blessings this Christmas! May we all stop to remember how the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ is the ultimate reason for celebrating the season!

Reward if Found!

We are going through a tragedy at our home......Dallas the Duck is LOST!!!!

He was last seen over a week ago and it is so sad for us to see him be separated from his beloved Cannon!.........especially at night!!!

Our house is not that big so it is driving us crazy where he could be. Now that Cannon is a speed crawler, we fear he has taken Dallas to some hidden place and left him.

We miss you Dallas!

Cannon's First Parade

Yeah.....the parade is here!!!

It was a very cold day for our annual Bluffton Christmas parade but that didn't stop our tradition. We woke up early and had breakfast on Calhoun Street with Ben, Danielle & Maddie then we put on extra layers and waited for the parade.

This year's parade seemed to go by super fast but that's okay, the best part is at the end.....Santa Claus!

Happy Cannon....as always, even in 50 degree weather!

This is how we have a parade in Bluffton....we're country folks!

This balloon kept Cannon very occupied

Mrs. Pinkney had to give some lovin to Cannon!!

A Little Voice Said......

...............Mama! And that little voice said, Dada too!

Yes, Cannon is finally starting to call us by name. Sometimes he gets us confused and says the wrong one to call us but that's okay, we know what he means. And sometimes he screams for the other when he is mad and can't get his way. That's okay too, we knew this stage of life and tantrums were in our future.

I'm sure more words will come soon but for now we are enjoying the sounds of Cannon sweet voice!

Thanksgiving......Texas Style!

Cannon got to go to Dallas, Texas for Thanksgiving and meet A LOT of family that have been waiting to get their hands on him. He got showered with lots of hugs & kisses from his Nanny & Papa, Great-Grandma Adams, Pops, Mamaw & Papaw and from his Aunt's, Uncle's and lots & lots of cousins!!! Cannon has now meet all his living grandparents and great-grandparents. The others are up in heaven as his special angels who watch over him with God.

We got to enjoy a week long trip and it took that long to make our way around town and try to see as many friends and family as we could. Cannon took a lot of his naps in the car and it made for great sleeping at night. We were amazed how well he did in a pack & play for a week.

A treat for both Cannon and Aaron was going to tour the new Dallas Cowboy stadium. We acted liked tourist that day but we loved it!

It might be a while before we get back to Texas now that Cannon's brother/sister is on their way, so for that reason, we say THANK YOU to our wonderful family for making this trip home so special. And to God.....WOW.....we are sooooooo blessed to be so loved by so many people!!!!

The morning started out early and Cannon got to ride in his new stroller through the airport!

Aunt B had gotten fun things for Cannon to play with while we stayed

Cannon favorite thing of all was Charlie, the dog! And Charlie's favorite thing was when Cannon would drop Cheerios.

While in Texas we discovered how much Cannon loves to sleep on a pillow....thanks Conner for loaning us your soft pillowcase!

Cannon loved getting spoiled by his Auntie M and Uncle Warren.

Cannon loved every minute of the sweet lovin from his Papa!!

Great-Grandma Adams & Cannon (he was named after Grandma's brother Jack)

Before going to visit the "real" Santa, Aunt B tested out a statue of one. Cannon passed!

I love this!!!

Cannon's first merry-go-round ride!

I will cherish this forever....Cannon getting to meet his Papaw and sit on his lap just as I did as a child growing up!

And his Mamaw....love just doesn't come any sweeter than when it's from her! She sang to Cannon and my heart was smiling the entire time!!!

Go Cowboys!!!!

Bobby came to meet Cannon. He is Cannon's 3rd cousin.

Cousins Forever....Conner & Cannon.
You were so good with him Conner, thank you so much for all your help!

How sweet is this!!!! Aunt B rocked Cannon to sleep outside on the porch.

The End!
We arrived back home and the airlines had lost both our stroller & baby car seat so Cannon got a loaner from Delta Airlines.
