BOO.....It's Cannon's 1st Halloween!

Halloween for Cannon was fun but mommy took the conservative approach this year. He got to dress in cute Halloween outfits for the week at school then attended his first kid party on Halloween afternoon over at Maddie's house.

It was still very warm on Halloween day so I had decided earlier that week not to purchase the costume that would cover him from head to toe; therefore, stay tuned for next year.

We also didn't go trick or treating this year because we thought it would be more fun for Cannon to sit on the front porch with us and pass out candy to the kids. He loved seeing them dressed up and really got excited if someone had glow-sticks or something that lite up. Just as it was turning dark, it was time for Cannon to go to bed so the day was timed perfectly!

Thank you Dawn and Trey for Cannon's cute Dallas Cowboy clothes that made for a very cute Halloween outfit.

Cannon went as a little Dallas Cowboy fan and.....

Daddy went as a Dallas Cowboy fan too!

Good Morning Mr. Happy!!

If all the pictures on Cannon's blog give you any glimpse into his personality, it's safe to assume he is a happy baby who LOVES to smile and is a total ham for the camera.

Our mornings (and after naps) are some of the best moments with Cannon. Now that he is growing up and knows how to get mommy & daddy's attention with his fake cry when he awakes, he quickly turns into Mr. Happy when we open the door.

What a wonderful way to start our day! If you're ever having a hard day or just need a little pick-me-up, come to these pictures and remember that life is TOO short NOT to enjoy the little things in life......like a smile!

We thank God for Cannon's wonderful and joyful spirit he displays everyday!

He loves to go to the edge of his crib and say hello to Dallas the Duck!

Great Friends = Wonderful Babysitters!

Aaron and I just celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary.....kid free!

My sweet husband arranged for our friends Ben & Danielle to babysit Cannon while we went out to dinner and a movie. Of course I insisted that we just go to dinner then go get Cannon immediately afterwards but I had a little chat with myself and decided to enjoy the evening with my husband. After all, Cannon was asleep and there was nothing I needed to worry about. It's still hard being a first time mommy and getting use to the idea of being away from your child. I know I do it everyday when he is at daycare but when I'm not suppose to be at work, I just want every moment to be with my sweet baby boy.

Our night was PERFECT! Dinner was fabulous and the movie was hilarious! Thank you Ben, Danielle & Maddie for letting Cannon hang out and spend time with y'all while Aaron and I got to enjoy and celebrate our anniversary. We are blessed to have you as such good friends!

Thank you Maddie for sharing your toys with Cannon!!

This was Cannon the next morning after his morning bottle.
Guess he really did have fun while mommy & daddy were away!

This is the sweet note Danielle left for me.
It confirms Cannon was in good hands!!!!

First Set of Wheels

We decided Cannon was old enough to get his first set of wheels and start driving around the house. Well....he likes honking the horn A LOT more than pushing or us driving him around. The Mickey "ears" are lights and come on when either the horn is pushed or any of the other 10 buttons on the car. It also plays music that Cannon likes to bounce too.

I think it's safe to say that we won't have to worry about him speeding down the street or having any fender benders anytime soon but what we are enjoying is seeing our little boy grow up and have fun! Drive Safe Cannon!

This was in the middle of him bouncing to the music!

A Package of Love from Texas for our Little Dude!

I went to pick Cannon up from daycare and Miss Charlene and Miss Anna gave me back my child with a MOHAWK! Oh my goodness, it was so cute and Cannon seemed to have an idea that he was looking hot because he couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Of course I wanted to just take him all around town and show him off but it was a cloudy and rainy day so we went home.

And when we arrived at the house there was a package for Cannon waiting for him on the front porch. His Auntie M & Uncle Warren had sent him an early Halloween/Fall package from TEXAS!!

Thank you Auntie M & Uncle Warren! We love you and can't wait to see you when we come to Texas and visit soon.

Puffs!

I feel I am running behind with starting Cannon on finger foods that help with his hand coordination but I seem to hit the jackpot on which foods he would love to start with.....PUFFS! Where were these when I was a baby? The 70's just didn't have cool things like they do now!!

On this particular Saturday he was on cloud nine and seemed to really get a kick out of being a big boy and getting to put something tasty in his mouth. I think more Puffs went into his lap and on the floor but eventually he got the hang of it. As you can see he was even EXTRA happy all day long!

Ummm....Isn't It Bedtime?

What we thought was another routine night of going to bed turned into something a little different. Since we can remember, Cannon has fallen asleep during his nighttime bottle and this has made it super easy to just put him to bed. On this night Cannon had other plans......he tricked us! He feel asleep during his bottle BUT decided he was going to wake up and get his second wind while taking him to his bedroom. After we learned he was NOT ready to go to sleep, we brought him back out to the living room to play and get the last drop of energy he had.

These precious moments won't last forever so we will take them and enjoy them while we can!

Shrimp and Smiles!

We traveled over the Broad River north to Beaufort, South Carolina. It's only a 30 minute trip but we just don't get there as often as we would like. Cannon was actually born in Beaufort so it was very sentimental to me when we drove by the hospital and I got to tell Cannon all about the day he was born......like he hasn't and won't hear that story another thousand times during his life.

It was a beautiful day, actually pretty hot for October, but we loaded Cannon up in his stroller, lathered him down in sunscreen and we headed out to eat some shrimp! This festival is so fun and getting to experience it with Cannon was icing on the cake this year for us. We know the festivals yet to come will be just that more exciting now that Cannon has added to our family!!

After the shrimp festival, we headed for an early dinner at Wild Wings. Yes....we were still hungry. Cannon got his second wind while we were there and had this grin on his face that was so cute! He seemed to really like looking at menu and that made him smile even more.

Once we got home, Cannon's smile didn't end there. He was just so happy so we captured more and enjoyed him until it was time to change into pj's and say goodnight.

Cannon, you light up your mommy & daddy's world with those big blue eyes and that smile from ear to ear! Thank you son for your happy spirit! We love you so much!!
