This year our kids still didn't really know the "hype" of Halloween. You know, getting dressed up and walking from house to house to collect candy. It just seemed like another walk around the block except that it was a school night. Of course the funny story we will take away from this year is Cannon's outfit. He was given a Maryland football jersey (size 2T) when he was a baby and it seemed like the perfect time to wear it. We even took him to Target and walked him up and down the isles to see if he wanted any other character or costume. The answer was always NO. He actually got a little scared about some. Yes, our sweet boy is also very sensitive and a little on the scared side. Since there was no cute cowboy outfit or super hero costume Cannon wanted, I asked if he wanted to wear his football jersey and go as a football player. We got the best answer of all....YES! So for the weeks leading up to Halloween I talked all about how cute he was going to be in his football jersey. An added bonus to this year's costumes was that Caroline received a Maryland cheerleader outfit as well so she complimented her big brother.
And that funny story.......well, here is how the conversation between daddy and Cannon went while getting him dressed to go out trick or treating:
Daddy: Cannon, are you excited to wear your Halloween costume?
Cannon: Yes
Daddy: Cannon, do you know what your costume is?
Cannon: Yes, daddy. I'm a FOOTBALL JERSEY!!
